Located in the Meadowlark Garden area near the Day Butterfly Center, this garden contains a number of varieties of Hydrangeas and companion plants. Peak bloom is usually late May through September. Several benches in the Hydrangea Garden offer a serene environment for quiet reflection.
Did you know? Most Hydrangea flowers are white, but some species can be blue, red, pink, light purple, or dark purple. Color is affected by soil pH levels. Acidic soil (pH below 6) usually produces colors closer to blue, whereas an alkaline soil (pH above 6) produces flower colors closer to pink.
